What is Koikatsu!? How to add character cards
The official genre of Koikatsu! is ３ＤキャラメイクＨ恋愛シミュレーション. Release is 27 April 2018. You spend school life and H with girls made in character design. The game itself is no longer sold.
What is Koikatsu!?
The official story starts when the protagonist, living alone near an aunt after his father is transferred overseas, transfers into the girls’ school where the aunt is principal. In a school with a lopsided sex ratio, the コイカツ部 starts with the heroines.
You make a school ID with the school name, emblem (23 kinds), the protagonist’s name, and nicknames (205 kinds), then edit the class. Saved character cards and random registration from the online character uploader can be used.
Girls move around campus and spend the day studying, eating, listening to music, or in club activities according to personality. There are toilets and showers, and you can peek.
Talking and listening lets you recruit into the コイカツ部 or confess and become lovers. Confession fails if you are not close enough. Communication includes コイバナ and 世間話, and character-creation questions change the reactions.
The campus is a 3D map with classrooms, club rooms, the staff room, a pool, and more. As lovers you get dates, H at home after returning, and being woken in bed in the morning. Up to 38 people can be registered.
H is not only for lovers. When a girl’s mood is high, a body-only relationship is possible without being lovers. H with teachers as well as students is included. There is a story mode and フリーH.
Mouse actions cover touching, pulling, licking, fingering, and thrusting. States run from virgin to 淫乱, and reactions change with personality and state. You can touch breasts and hips during insertion, and positions change as she gets used to H.
Special characters with stories also appear on the map. Some appear as teachers.
Character design
Official character creation is the キャラクターデザインシステム. Face, hair, body, uniform, and accessories use more than 300 settings.
Eyes use upper and lower eyelid sliders, eyeliner, iris gradients, and highlights. Hair combines bangs, back, and sides, with tip, root, and outline colors, bang length, and extensions. The face has nose, lips, eyeshadow, cheek, lip, and moles or freckles you can move. Uniforms are sailor or jacket, with patterns and colors, plus gym wear, club wear, casual wear, underwear, swimsuits, and accessories. The body has height and head size, fleshiness, skin look (figure to anime), gloss, per-part shape, and breast shape, weight, and softness.
There are 30 personalities and more than 100,000 lines. As lovers she uses a voiced nickname. The personalities are セクシー, 高飛車, ミステリアス, 大和撫子, 純真無垢, 邪気眼, 姉御肌, 不良少女, 意識高いクール, 不幸少女, モジモジ, ミーハー, ヤンデレ, 無口, のじゃっ子, お嬢様, 後輩キャラ, 電波, ボーイッシュ, 単純, 母性的, ギャル, 野性的, ひねくれ, 文学少女, 正統派ヒロイン, オタク女子, ものぐさ, 意地っ張り, and 素直クール.
The limited-edition bonus was the extra costume ハイクオリティメイド. The pre-order bonus was the extra costume 魔法少女. Both can change color.
The DVD bonus is a maxi single of the insert song 青空アドベンチャー by 榊原ゆい, who voices the idol 姫川 舞.
The product
The official list price was 9,800 yen excluding tax. Windows 7 / 8.1 / 10 (64-bit). Required free space is 20 GB or more. The game itself is no longer sold.
CHARA STUDIO
The official free extra キャラデザ強化パック ＆ CHARA STUDIO includes the diorama tool CHARA STUDIO. It places characters, maps, and items for photos and viewing. Scene-data images play scenes other people made. You can swap characters with cards and move the camera.
The all-in-one pack includes earlier extras. クリスマス衣装 can be used if you own the base game. Get it from the official archive CHARA STUDIO page. The Sunshine CHARA STUDIO is a separate program; they cannot use each other.
There is also a VR program for H scenes, コイカツ！ＶＲ.
コイカツ！アフタースクール
A large extra for the base game. You need Koikatsu!. It cannot be used with Koikatsu Party. Release is 21 December 2018. The official genre is コイカツ！追加データセット. The official DL price was 6,200 yen including tax; the DVD edition was 7,800 yen excluding tax. DVD and DL extras have the same content. The DL edition does not include the image-song maxi single or the signed-paper entry ticket.
It expands dates, personalities, costumes, hair, maps, and H. Extra data also adds hair, clothes, accessories, and CHARA STUDIO items. Existing personalities get new date and H voice.
New dates include karaoke and an amusement park.
There is also added H.
There are scenes in a crowded train as well.
The added personalities are Sッ気, 無感情, 方言娘, and 帰国子女. It also adds many outfits and hairstyles, so install it for anime and game cards.
The pre-order extra costume was 和メイド衣装セット.
Koikatsu! personality pack
Extra data for the base game. You need Koikatsu!. It cannot be used with Koikatsu Party. The DL edition is 27 July 2018; the DVD edition is 31 August 2018. The official genre is コイカツ！追加データセット. The official DL price was 3,980 yen including tax; the DVD edition was 4,980 yen excluding tax. DL and DVD content is the same. The DVD edition was a limited first-run special package.
The added personalities are 勝ち気, 誠実, and 艶やか. New voice exceeds 10,000 words.
勝ち気 is selectable only if you own the personality pack.
An example of 誠実 conversation:
Brand-new swimsuits were added. Pattern and color can be changed like other clothes.
There is also H for the added personalities.
Koikatsu! Trilogy Pack
A set of the base game, the personality pack, and アフタースクール. Most cards use the extra data; missing data breaks hair and outfits. Cards other people share often assume the Trilogy Pack as well.
アフタースクール and the personality pack are both in the Trilogy Pack. Do not install them twice.

Character cards
A character card is an image that holds character-creation data. Loading volunteer cards lets you animate characters from anime, manga, games, light novels, and VTuber avatars.
From initial settings, choose 「コイカツ キャラメイクのキャラフォルダを開く」. Save cards in the female folder that opens. You are done when the card appears for 座席表 転入 or キャラメイク キャラ読み込み.
Scene data is an image that recreates a situation. Load it in CHARA STUDIO.
File format
Cards are PNG. A JPEG or other format with the same look will not load.
The default size is 252×352. Larger cards exist. Sizes such as 756×1056 keep the same aspect ratio.
pixiv cards
The normally displayed pixiv image has the character data removed. Click the image and save the expanded original PNG.
If screenshots are posted together, click すべてを見る first, then save each original.
There is no card
If there is no card image, it may be on an external uploader. Check the description first. Some creators put uploader or SNS URLs on their profile.
If there is no link either, distribution may have stopped. Do not comment or message the creator to ask for a re-upload.
Google Drive cards
The preview does not contain character data. Use the download button at the top right.
Hair or costumes do not load
Some cards use mods. Without those mods, the character may not match the preview. Environment changes can also make a correct load impossible. If it will not load, you may need to substitute other parts.
The card will not load
A card missing personality data can freeze Confirm/Back after 転入 on the 座席表. A black icon on the student-ID image and the セクシー personality are typical signs.
Personalities Sッ気, 無感情, 方言娘, and 帰国子女 need アフタースクール. 勝ち気, 誠実, and 艶やか need the personality pack. Both are in the Trilogy Pack.
Changing the personality in キャラメイク will at least make the game operable. You cannot change it from 座席表 character edit.
If none of the above apply, the card may be a Sunshine card. Size and format match, but the default frame says Sunshine. The Trilogy Pack usually cannot load those cards.
